Bear Facts is the student news media at my high school. While I was a student journalist here for my high school career, I learned a lot about typography, design, interviewing, and writing. This experience was my first foray into the world of design, and played a large part in molding my future interest in design, which is why I have added it as one of the topics on this site.
This was the first article I wrote for Bear Facts. I co-wrote this article with another member of the staff, helped design the page, and learned a lot about Adobe tools, design, and the way humans interact with the content in front of them. This is where my interest in HCI began.
This article won me an honorable mention for an editorial from the Northern Illinois Scholastic Press Association. I interviewed the principal, sifted through the school budget, and designed this page to show there was inequity in the school's distribution of funds.
